We have good relationships with the Water Supply companies in our region: Wessex Water, Sembcorp (Bournemouth Water), South West Water, Southern Water and Bristol Water.

Pipefix are framework contractors for Wessex Water, Trant Construction and Kelda Water Services, providing Repair & Maintenance (R&M) services, Water Network / Utilities Inspectors, minor civils works and capital projects. We have also conducted a sewage valve installation project for Bristol Water recently.

Staff Competency

Installation, Repairs & Maintenance Gangs Working on Potable Water and Waste Water

Team Leader / Ganger

Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction pipe laying, duct install and concrete placing
First Aid training course (1 day)
NRSWA Streetwork Certificate Modules 1 – 7
Driving Licence for driving a fit for purpose vehicle (or passed prior to 1997) it is compulsory for the licence to cover towing trailers
CAT & Genny cable avoidance tool certified (½ day training course)
Dumper truck Certificate
Manual Handling course
Abrasive wheels certificate
Asbestos awareness course
Good sound knowledge of H&S practices
Good sound knowledge and experience of road safety, and setting up temporary works
Good communication skills

Additional/Advantageous Competencies

NVQ Service Laying Certificate
Confined space training (Class B)
CSCS H&S Awareness Certificate

Operative / Mate

Installation

Our gangs can install:

Water Mains up to 600mm diameter
Concrete chambers
PRV’s and RPZ valves
Hydrants and wash outs
Pump houses and Pump Stations
Sewage Mains up to 800mm

Gangs are supplied to the Wessex Water standard.

Design

Our Chartered Engineer can provide you with advice on water and sewage systems, including;

Storage; reservoir, tank and wet well selection
Pipe sizing; mains, drains and sewer laterals
Pressure regimes; booster pumps and pumping stations
Water and sewage treatment

Our complete service includes design, specification and detailing of systems and includes production of schematics in .pdf or AutoCAD format for you.
